The FORTIFIED Home™ program has three levels of designation—Bronze, Silver and Gold—that build upon each other, allowing you to choose the desired level of protection that best suits your budgets and resilience goals.
Mississippi House Bill 1410 was passed and the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriters Association (MWUA) – also known as the State Windpool – offers wind premium insurance discounts for the following FORTIFIED Home™ designation levels:

The FORTIFIED Home™ Bronze designation addresses the roof as a system with specific focus on preventing water intrusion. The most cost effective time to meet requirements for the Bronze designation is during new construction or while you are replacing your roof covering. Retrofit options are available.
The FORTIFIED Home™ Silver designation addresses opening protection to protect the home from pressurization from windows or doors breaking during a hurricane. Silver also addresses the attachment of other structures such as carports and porches.
The FORTIFIED Home™ Gold designation addresses adequate load path from the roof rafters all the way to the foundation, or the roof-to-wall connection,
